How a New Roof Install Works

Start to finish — coordinated with your project schedule.

01
Pre-Construction Meeting

We review your plans, framing schedule, and permit requirements. For new construction, coordination with your GC is part of what we do.

02
Framing Inspection

Before we start, we walk the framing to verify it's ready for roofing — no gaps, blocking in place, proper pitch verified.

03
Underlayment & Weatherproofing

Felt or synthetic underlayment, ice and water shield at all vulnerable areas, drip-edge to code. This layer matters more than the shingles on top.

04
Shingle Installation

Full installation per manufacturer specs, including proper nailing patterns, stagger, and flashing at every penetration and transition.

05
Final Inspection & Warranty

We walk the completed roof with you or your GC, provide a written workmanship warranty, and file the manufacturer warranty registration.

New Roof Installation — FAQ

1. Do you work with general contractors on new construction projects? +
Yes. New construction roofing is a significant part of our work. We coordinate directly with GCs on scheduling, framing readiness, and punch list items.
2. What roofing materials do you install on new construction? +
Architectural shingles are the most common, but we also install metal roofing, Class 4 impact-resistant shingles, and tile systems on new construction depending on the project.
3. Do you pull the roofing permit? +
Yes. We handle permitting for our scope of work on new construction projects. Your GC pulls the building permit; we pull the roofing sub-permit if required by the jurisdiction.
4. How long does a new roof installation take? +
A standard residential new construction roof takes 1–2 days once framing is ready. Larger or more complex rooflines take longer. We give you a schedule estimate before the project starts.
